At the forefront of Manufacturing Engineering, our engineers support over 50 individual fuel control and actuation products flying on commercial airlines, private jets, and military aircrafts. Alongside our technicians, we utilize precision equipment in the assembly and automation of our high performance test rigs to improve performance, reliability, repeatability, and quality. Our Manufacturing Engineers drive innovation you can see on display each and every day. Come join our team to support our flying fleet and put your engineering skills into practice!

As a MES Hydromechanical Manufacturing Test Engineer, you will be the unifier between project engineering, component assembly, facilities, and mechanical systems. You are responsible for supporting the component acceptance test specification (ATP) creation, interpretation, implementation, and execution. This role requires engineers to apply the core engineering principles of fluid pumps, valves, and programming. In addition to supporting the hydromechanical fuel controls and actuators, you will lead test rig development, troubleshooting and programming. Testing our aerospace products to the highest rigor, standards, and quality is pivotal to assuring the safety of our commercial and military aircrafts.

What You Will Do:
  • Component Acceptance Test - Responsible for assuring test specification requirements align with test rig capability from a performance, measurement instrumentation, metrology, and compliance perspective. Write and modify test rig program software to instruct corresponding rig execution to align with ATP direction. Implement mitigative measures to assure test rig pressures, temperatures, flows, and motor speed remain within compliance.
  • Test Rig Support - Maintain the test rig running performance. Assure equipment is within regulation. Respond urgently to test rig malfunctions. Work with Operations, shop floor technicians, and engineering to devise swift corrective action. Order replacement or fabrication of any replacement parts, test fixtures and tooling. General on-site oversight of test rig repair, assembly, testing, and modernization.
  • Component Knowledge - Utilizes strong mechanical working understanding of pumps, fuel controls, actuators, flow meters, electrohydraulic servo valves, flow orifices, and plumbing valves.
  • Schematics - Read, interpret, troubleshoot, and execute per highly detailed facility, test rig, and component system flow diagrams.
  • Investigations - Data collection, aggregation, and analysis to support Root Cause & Corrective Action investigations.
  • Software - Daily usage of Solumina for work instructions. Will work primarily with Bauer and Vortex Test rig software and work in the ATS3000 for Bauer and LabView for the vortex programs. Heavy usage of full suite of Microsoft 360, including Microsoft Access and VBA.
  • General Performance Execution - Support 2nd shift hours of operation. Prepare and clearly present your work product at project status meetings. Meet established project budget, schedule, and performance commitments. Ability to function autonomously with limited supervision, as an individual contributor, within a multi-functional team environment. Support Manufacturing operations, including on-site troubleshooting and debugging, both independently and in collaboration with production, project, design, and mechanical systems engineering teams.

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
