What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director, P&C Supply Chain, EACS (Hybrid) position at Collins Aerospace?
As the Director of Supply Chain for Environmental Airframe Control Systems (EACS), you will have the opportunity to scale your core operations skill set to include cross functional leadership, solution-based negotiating, cost management activities, strategic commodity coordination, and execution of early life cycle program activities. Procurement reads across all aspects of supply chain competencies providing an excellent proving ground for motivated individuals with interest in building a strong base within RTX’s supply chain organizations. Success in this role is defined by the ability to navigate through perceived obstacles/boundaries, forge strong supplier relationships, stronger contracts, taking ownership of development, introduction, and growth stage program processes in order to deliver flawless execution to business unit and organizational goals.
In this role you will be expected to communicate to all levels of the organization, develop talent within your organization, manage procurement activities through all phases of the product life cycle, and partner with other internal functional groups such as commodity to execute strategic initiatives and ensure parts delivery to the SBU factories. The identified candidate will manage a small leadership team overseeing a medium sized group of subcontract managers responsible for supplier management, contract creation & execution, on time placement of orders, expediting, and coordination with internal functional groups.
The EACS business is headquartered in Windsor Locks, CT, and the dedicated supply chain team is largely located in Windsor Locks, CT. The majority of the supply chain team supports a hybrid work environment with team norms still under definition and review as individuals return to the physical office. As such, the expectation is that this leader support a hybrid work arrangement from any of our sites (e.g., Rockford, IL, Cedar Rapids, IA, Charlotte/Winston-Salem, NC, Windsor Locks, CT, San Diego/Chula Vista, CA) and be prepared to have a strong physical presence onsite in Windsor Locks, CT, through travel or other means as necessary. It is imperative that the leader of this organization cultivate a relationship with the supply chain team and the Value Streams in line with a One Collins approach and to deliver what is required to support the end customer.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Leading a team of supply chain professionals to support all of the supply chain activities in the EACS business
- Driving Compliance to procurement procedures within the working team and to develop, maintain, and execute standard work
- Execution of critical projects and sustained performance to key program metrics (cost, quality, delivery)
- Interfacing with Senior Leadership within the organization, customers, and within the supply base
- Partnering with internal customers and support organizations to drive supply chain activities
- New program introduction into service and execution
- Supplier performance- On Time Delivery, Buffer Attainment, Perfect Quality
- Integration and coordination of Commodity & Business Unit Strategies
- Developing talent and cultivating a collaborative team environment
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and 14 years of relevant experience OR
- Advance degree and 12 years of relevant experience OR
- In absence of a degree, 18 years of relevant experience is required
- US Citizen is required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated capability leading teams, particularly across multiple regions and countries
- Demonstrated experience in Procurement leadership
- Demonstrated indirect leadership and management through influence
