What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inspection Technician I - Weekend Shift *$16.50* (Onsite) position at Collins Aerospace?

Purpose:

Conducts inspections of products (parts, assemblies, raw materials, tooling, instruments, etc.) to validate compliance to design data requirements which include drawings, specifications, and contract requirements at predetermined steps in the manufacturing process using basic inspection methods and tools.

Hours:

Weekend Shift: Wednesday-Saturday, 4:30 PM to 3 AM.

Must be available for overtime, including extended workdays and weekends.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Perform visual and dimensional inspection of purchased parts, materials, manufactured components and sub-assemblies in meeting blueprint, regulatory and contract requirements. Inspections consist of using standard measuring instruments as well as special measuring instruments and gauges.
  • Complete inspection records, logs, and rejection reports.
  • Reports non-conformance, using the Non-conforming Material Reporting system.
  • Communicates in writing and verbally on concerns with supplier conformance.
  • Assists Quality Management, as directed

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school Diploma or equivalent.
  • In the absence of a HS diploma or GED, 2 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Previous manufacturing experience is required.
  • Knowledge of micrometer

Preferred Qualification:

  • Aerospace industry experience preferred.
  • 3 years of experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Intermediate computer skills in terms of typing, navigating screens, and learning new software programs; proficiency with Microsoft Office and SAP.
