Collins Aerospace is looking for a Senior Technician Drafting Product Definition for our Simpsonville team within Mission Systems. As a member of the Drafting and Product Definition Team, the Senior Technician plans, lays-out, draws, and revises detailed part, assembly, and installation engineering drawings from basic layouts, references, and data. They also complete details of major layout drawings prepared by others in accordance with standard engineering drafting practices using computer aided design systems. The Senior Technician determines scaling, inserts necessary reference datums, center and dimension lines, hidden line interpolations, and sectioning. Additionally, they prepare complete production detail drawings. Finally, they develop design drawings according to engineering sketches and proposal specifications.

The salary range for this role is 40,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. What You Will Do
- May assist in orienting, training, assigning and checking the work of employees on the drafting and product definition team
- Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish assigned tasks and goals
- Applies intermediate skills to daily work and may update new procedures, techniques, and tools based upon expertise
- Works under general supervision to assist engineers with all activities related to part, assembly, and installation engineering drawings
- Performs basic to moderately complex drafting duties by operating Computer Aided Design (CAD) equipment such as digitizers, plotters, CRT's, and associated peripheral equipment and software
- Assists with drafting detailed dimensional drawings and design layouts for projects to ensure conformance to specifications
- Prepares reports on project activities and data
- Supports engineers in determining accuracy of work and maintaining drafting standards
- Plans, lays-out, draws, and revises detailed part, assembly, and installation engineering drawings from basic layouts, references, and data
- Completes details of major layout drawings prepared by others in accordance with standard engineering drafting practices using computer aided design systems
- Determines scaling, inserts necessary reference datums, center and dimension lines, hidden line interpolations, and sectioning
- Prepares complete production detail drawings
- Develops design drawings according to engineering sketches and proposal specifications
- Typically requires HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience

- Working knowledge and experience using SolidWorks
- Working knowledge and experience using ePDM
- Working knowledge and experience using EPICOR or other ERP system
- Working knowledge and experience using AutoCAD
- Working knowledge and familiarity experience using with ASME 14.5Y and related standards
- Working knowledge and familiarity with Configuration Management with AS9100
