Collins Engineers, Inc, a leader in the transportation, marine, construction, and land development industries, has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Bridge Inspection-Team Leader in our Salt Lake City, Utah office. The engineer will supervise and perform structural inspections on bridges and ancillary structures, serving as the Team Leader. The Team Leader is responsible for leading inspection teams and assisting in the successful completion of inspection/design projects as well as act as the Project Manager on moderately complex inspection projects. TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Supervise above water and underwater bridge and ancillary design, inspection, and evaluations.
- Review, analyze, and provide recommendations on field and/or design issues or adaptations.
- Prepare and monitor project budgets and assist in proposal preparation.
- Responsible for project schedules and timely completion of projects.
- Responsible for moderately difficult engineering projects in field or office in accordance with plans and specifications.
- Perform moderately difficult engineering computations and estimates in designing engineering projects.
- Field work required, which could include nights and weekends.
- Prepare complete engineering plans or reports.
- Direct and supervise the work of entry-level engineers, technicians, drafters, and administrative staff.
- Coach field staff on the purpose and processes of inspections and inspection techniques.
- Make independent decisions within a general framework.
- Use computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.

Qualifications
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree and/or master’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year university and a minimum of 4 to 5 years of bridge or ancillary structure inspection experience.
- Must have passed the NHI/FHWA Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges course.
- Engineer-In-Training (E.I.T) required
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) preferred
- NICET certification preferred
- Valid driver’s license

Salary : $82,500 - $93,500
