Salary Range:    $200,000.00 - $240,000.00 Salary

Description

The Division Manager is responsible for the successful operations of the division. The Division Manager is responsible for the technical, business development, financial, and administrative management of the division, for achieving the company’s goals and ensuring policies, practices, and philosophies are followed.  The position requires a high level of ethical and professional conduct in technical and managerial activities. This position demonstrates foresight, planning, organizing and guiding the Division.  This position reports to the Executive Vice-President.

 

TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Management/Technical

  • Supervise the Regional Managers of the division.
  • Develop and implement communication processes and systems, with the Regional Manager, to ensure effective communication with staff, clients and corporate office.
  • Inform Regional Managers of pertinent information.
  • Responsible for identifying, recruiting and retaining qualified Regional Managers. 
  • Be active in technical societies such as; ACEC. 
  • Published engineering papers and/or articles.

Business Development/Marketing

  • Responsible for identifying and cultivating new business and clients.
  • Assist the Regional Managers in preparing the office an annual comprehensive marketing plan addressing both short term and long-term marketing goals.
  • Responsible for maintaining meaningful relationships with all clients.
  • Responsible for submitting monthly marketing status reports.
  • Make certain that the Regional Managers ensures that external client focus is top priority of the region, and that systems, processes, and activities that focus on the client at all levels of the region are implemented.
  • Be available to attend meetings or events outside of normal working hours.

Financial

  • Ensure that all divisional performance goals including contract income, regional utilization, multiplier, controllable overhead expense, and business development are met.
  • Assists the Regional Managers in preparing annual Office Business Plan/Budget.
  • Reviews office budgets.

Safety

  • Knows how to perform his/her duties safely.

Qualifications


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree and/or master’s degree in engineering from an accredited four-year university  
  • Minimum of 25 years’ experience or the equivalent thereof. 
  • Maintains competency in and serves as major firm resource in field of expertise.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) and/or IL Structural Engineer (S.E.)
     

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
  • The employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 125 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • While in the field, the employee may be required to walk in rugged conditions, work in adverse weather conditions, and stand up to eight hours or more at a time.

 

Salary : $200,000 - $240,000
