This shared position provides Human Resources guidance and expertise for two school districts in central Iowa. Collins-Maxwell and Colo-NESCO Community School Districts are seeking a Human Resources professional to coordinate H.R. & Business Office functions for both districts. This role is pivotal in assisting with benefits, leaves of absence, and employee events, along with providing general administrative office support.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain complete and accurate employee data & leave files.
- Serve as Employee Benefits Coordinator. Work with benefit broker and facilitate annual open enrollment meetings and relays crucial information regarding benefit offerings and related topics as directed. Coordinate benefit changes and research answers to benefit-related inquiries.
- Assist in recruiting processes, posting job orders, along with full onboarding process of new employees including (but not limited to) pre-employment appointments, new hire paperwork, background check processing, orientation and obtaining computer access.
- Annual issuance of staff contracts
- Serve as Board Secretary for at least one District, whose role is to serve as the custodian of school records, to preserve and maintain the records and documents pertaining to the business of the board; to keep complete minutes of special and regular board meetings, including closed meetings; to keep a record of the results of regular and special elections; to sign warrants drawn on school funds after board approval
- Assist in filing required state reports with the Iowa Department of Education.
- Board policy development & enforcement, administration of HR regulations, work comp/FMLA/leave administration, and other HR best practices.
- Payroll preparation, running reports and processing deductions for taxes, benefits, and other withholdings.
- Provide assistance in completing accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
- Provide other office support as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A.A. or B.A. in Human Resources, Business, or related field, or commensurate experience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with employees at all levels.
- Adept at following guidelines, policies, and procedures.
- Excel at customer service.
- Must have excellent computer skills to include:
o Microsoft Excel
o Microsoft Word
- Attention to detail is a must, having excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
- Must have the utmost respect for confidentiality of information.
