As the industry evolves, CSOL is embracing a hybrid technician-estimator model, where the Auto Damage Assessment Technician is responsible for vehicle teardown, damage documentation, and full estimate writing to create a seamless repair process. Position Overview

The Auto Damage Assessment Technician is a critical role within CSOL, blending technical collision repair knowledge with estimating expertise. This position requires a highly skilled Auto Body Technician who is either experienced in estimating or eager to learn. The ideal candidate will be responsible for disassembling vehicles, documenting damage, writing estimates, and ensuring repairs follow industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Vehicle Teardown & Damage Assessment

✔ Fully disassemble damaged vehicles to identify all visible and hidden damage.
✔ Capture detailed images and documentation to support insurance claims.
✔ Utilize frame measuring and diagnostic tools to assess structural and mechanical repairs.

2. Estimate Writing & Insurance Communication

✔ Create detailed and accurate repair estimates using CCC ONE, Mitchell, or Audatex.
✔ Provide insurance-approved blueprinting for the repair team.
✔ Work directly with insurance adjusters to review and finalize estimates.
✔ Process supplements when additional damage is found during repairs.

3. Repair Coordination & Quality Control

✔ Ensure all estimates align with OEM, I-CAR, and insurance repair standards.
✔ Collaborate with body and paint teams to ensure accurate repairs.
✔ Perform final inspections to guarantee proper fit, finish, and function before reassembly.

4. Customer Service & Communication

✔ Clearly explain repair plans, insurance processes, and timelines to customers.
✔ Provide regular updates to customers regarding repair status.
✔ Deliver exceptional customer service to build trust and satisfaction.

Qualifications

Experienced Auto Body Technician looking to transition into estimating OR an experienced Collision Estimator with strong technical knowledge.
✔ Proficiency in collision repair processes, parts, and frame measurement systems.
✔ Familiarity with estimating software (CCC ONE, Mitchell, or equivalent) or a strong willingness to learn.
✔ Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
✔ Strong customer service and communication skills.
I-CAR or ASE certification preferred, but training will be provided.
Valid driver’s license required.

Physical Requirements

✔ Ability to lift and move auto parts and equipment (up to 80 lbs).
✔ Prolonged standing, bending, and reaching while assessing vehicles.
✔ Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
