Position Summary:
The Heavy Truck Body Shop Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the body shop operations, ensuring efficient workflow, high-quality repairs, and exceptional customer satisfaction. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise in heavy truck body repair, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
Responsibilities:
Operational Management:
- Manage, supervise and discipline all body shop personnel, including technicians, painters, and support staff.
- Schedule and prioritize work orders to maximize efficiency and meet deadlines.
- Monitor and control inventory of parts, materials, and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and labor hours.
- Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure high-quality repairs.
- Optimize shop layout and workflow for maximum productivity.
Technical Expertise:
- Provide technical guidance and support to body shop technicians.
- Diagnose and resolve complex body repair issues.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest industry technologies and repair techniques.
- Ensure technicians are properly trained on the use of equipment and tools.
Customer Service:
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding repair status and estimates.
- Address customer concerns and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
- Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
Financial Management:
- Develop and manage the body shop budget.
- Monitor and control costs related to labor, materials, and equipment.
- Generate accurate estimates and invoices.
- Work with insurance companies to process claims.
Safety and Compliance:
- Enforce all safety regulations and promote a safe work environment.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and address any hazards.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
Qualifications:
