Position Summary:

The Heavy Truck Body Shop Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the body shop operations, ensuring efficient workflow, high-quality repairs, and exceptional customer satisfaction. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise in heavy truck body repair, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and productive work environment.

Responsibilities:

Operational Management:

• Manage, supervise and discipline all body shop personnel, including technicians, painters, and support staff.
• Schedule and prioritize work orders to maximize efficiency and meet deadlines.
• Monitor and control inventory of parts, materials, and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and labor hours.
• Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure high-quality repairs.
• Optimize shop layout and workflow for maximum productivity.

Technical Expertise:

• Provide technical guidance and support to body shop technicians.
• Diagnose and resolve complex body repair issues.
• Stay up-to-date on the latest industry technologies and repair techniques.
• Ensure technicians are properly trained on the use of equipment and tools.

Customer Service:

• Communicate effectively with customers regarding repair status and estimates.
• Address customer concerns and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
• Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.

Financial Management:

• Develop and manage the body shop budget.
• Monitor and control costs related to labor, materials, and equipment.
• Generate accurate estimates and invoices.
• Work with insurance companies to process claims.

Safety and Compliance:

• Enforce all safety regulations and promote a safe work environment.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and address any hazards.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of [Number] years of experience in heavy truck body repair, with at least [Number] years in a supervisory or management role.
• Strong knowledge of heavy truck body repair techniques, including frame repair, welding, painting, and refinishing.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
