What are the responsibilities and job description for the SLEEP LAB CLERK position at Collom & Carney Clinic?
SLEEP LAB CLERK
Represents the clinic in a courteous, efficient and professional manner by
answering and making all necessary telephone calls, scheduling appointments,
greeting and assisting patients here for medical care in the area of
Pulmonology/ Sleep Lab.
1. Answers all incoming calls for Sleep Study/ CPAP.
2. Answers telephone for nurse or physician if they are
not available, screening calls as necessary.
3. Makes necessary outgoing calls regarding Sleep
Study/CPAP appointments.
4. Maintain spreadsheet for Inspire Evals and
communicate VIA Email/phone with appropriate Rep.
5. Locates physician for an emergency.
6. Maintain schedule for Sleep Disorder Center. Fill
open slots upon cancellation.
7. Take care of all phone messages by the end of the day.
8. Get approval for testing prior to scheduling sleep
study.
9. Maintain all sleep referrals, sleep tasks, and sleep
studies for pulmonology.
10. Reschedules sleep studies upon notification of sleep
tech being out or finds replacements
11. Work with the Sleep Tech when scheduling MSLT studies.
12. Performs clerical duties such as ordering supplies
for Sleep Lab Department, making out appointment
books at least one year in advance, and giving
information on patients from referring Physicians to
the patient representatives, tickets, mail, etc.
13. Update all demographic information such as address,
phone number and verify insurance information is
correct and insurance referral is obtained if needed.
14. Attend Sleep Lab meeting as scheduled.
15. Call to confirm CPAP/Sleep Studies daily.
16. Maintain sleep technician schedule.
17. Send orders to Christus St. Michael hospital for
sleep studies.
18. Coordinate sleep studies on LHI company account.
1. High School Graduate or equivalent.
2. Previous reception experience or background.
3. Previous public contact work and telephone work.
4. Background and knowledge of computers.
