CVH - CVT, LVT or Non-Certified Veterinary Technician/Assistant
Colmey Veterinary Hospital is looking for full time veterinary technicians (certified/licensed) and veterinary assistants to join our growing team! Experience and licensure are preferred but we are willing to train the right person. This position performs a variety of technical, office and customer service related tasks and is critical to the efficiency of our normal operations.
We are a busy mixed animal practice located in beautiful, small-town Livingston, MT. Our clinic was established in 1950 and has provided veterinary services to the pets and livestock of Park County for over 70 years. We are an upbeat animal hospital focused on the care of our clients and their animals, and our clients are friendly and enjoy our family-like experience. The clinic currently offers routine health services, non-routine and illness visits, routine elective surgeries, dentistry, reproductive services and several non-elective or emergent surgeries for both small and large animals. We are well equipped with an in-house laboratory that includes full point-of-care bloodwork, urinalysis, microscopy and an artificial intelligence platform for blood smears, fecal floatation, aspirates and dermatology diagnostics that allows for pathology review within two hours. We also have an in-house pharmacy, two portable ultrasound machines for basic screening exams and obstetrical use, a portable Silencer livestock chute for ranch calls, a tonometer for ophthalmic use and a shockwave therapy unit. There is a doctor on call on evenings and weekends for afterhours urgent care.

Job Duties
- Daily kennel duties on weekdays as well as rotating weekend kennel duty schedule
- Assist veterinarians with scheduled appointments, including but not limited to: schedule management; patient handling; obtaining diagnostics; client communication; invoicing; dispensing medications
- Run bloodwork and other lab diagnostics as necessary
- Help take radiographs as necessary
- Fill meds, input charges and dispense recommended food(s)
- Discharge surgical patients as assigned by Doctor(s)
- Client communications for medications, post-op instructions, go home instructions for drop offs, etc.
- Assist with treatments for hospitalized patients
- Call backs for surgeries or other check ins and client communications as delegated by doctor
- Fill prescriptions as needed
- Assist with all aspects of surgery, including but not limited to: patient check in; set up of equipment and supplies; patient preparation; and scrubbing in for procedures as needed
- Assist with preparation for and execution of ranch calls as needed
- Report any safety concerns, necessary equipment or supply maintenance, infrastructure issues, etc. to appropriate individual(s)
- May be asked to stay late or come in afterhours for emergency surgeries or other procedures
- Attend monthly staff meetings and required staff trainings
- Must work with front end staff to coordinate doctor schedules and ensure normal operations
- Expected to participate in company events

Preferred Characteristics
- Experience in the field of veterinary medicine
- LVT/CVT or completion of a veterinary technician or assistant program
Job Requirements/Qualifications
- Good computer skills (Microsoft Office, email programs, etc.) or comfort learning new computer programs
- Phone and email etiquette
- Able to lift up to 40 lbs
- Excellent customer service abilities, including being personable and empathetic both in person and over the phone

- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Able to follow instructions, pay close attention to detail and unafraid to ask questions
- Self motivated, able to identify necessary tasks and work on them independently

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
