The Physician Assistant is responsible for providing healthcare services to patients in the hospital and clinic, under the direction and responsibility of physician(s).
This is a full-time, exempt position that will support both our Edina Clinic and Abbott Northwestern Hospital.
Colon & Rectal Surgery Associates is an operating division of Infinite Health Collaborative (i-Health), a group of local medical practices, owned and led by its physicians, on a mission to give patients more control over their healthcare.
Essential Functions :
Attend to hospital specific duties as assigned. For example, round on inpatients and attend to requests for a consult.
Assist surgeon in operating room (e.g., pre-surgery planning, position patient in O.R., check for proper instruments, assist in surgical procedure, close wound, remove patient)
Attend to patients in the clinic as assigned. This could include independent visits and / or assisting physician(s) as necessary (e.g., room and prep patients; order images; compile patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination) Implement patient management plans, record progress, and assist in provision of care
Respond to patient phone messages
Prescribe medications
Follow all Colon & Rectal Surgery standards
Plans, communicates, and manages schedule changes to minimize negative impact on patient care
Any and all other duties as assigned
Education and Experience Requirements :
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
NCCPA certification
Minnesota Board of Medical Practice registration / license
DEA registration
Experience with NextGen EHR preferred
BLS / CPR Certified

Work in the clinic, office or surgery center during business hours
Travel independently throughout the clinic, office or surgery center (which may include movement from floor to floor); frequent bending, lifting, standing, stooping or sitting for long periods of time may be required
Work at an efficient and productive pace, handle interruptions appropriately and meet deadlines
Communicate and interact in a respectful and professional manner
Prioritize workload while being flexible to meet the expectations of the daily operations
Apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

Effectively operate equipment and communicate on and operate the phone system
