What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Assistant/Kennel Technician/Receptionist position at Colonial Animal Clinic?
Colonial Animal Clinic is seeking a full time employee to split shifts between veterinary assistant/kennel duties and reception duties. We want someone who is willing to learn and perform all aspects of a veterinary hospital. Candidates must meet the requirements below:
- Ability to greet clients and their pets in a happy, friendly tone
- Ability to multitask and flexibility to "float" between reception and the on-the-floor duties of a veterinary assistant where help is needed
- Understanding of veterinary medicine or desire to learn on the job with strict supervision
- Ability to bend/stretch/stand for short or long periods of time
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs without assistance
- Willingness to work with potentially fractious/aggressive animals (bites/scratches are rare but this is always a risk when working with animals!)
-Will require weekend and holiday shifts

Job Duties:
- Communicating with clients in person and on the phone
- Scheduling
- Checking in/out appointments
- Input of veterinary charges/handling transactions
- Assisting veterinarian with exams/treatments
- Caring for boarding animals
- General care of the clinic (restocking/cleaning)
Schedule:
- 4 full days during the week
- Alternating weekends required
- Day shift
- 8 hour shift
