Production Supervisor

Position: Production Supervisor

Company Information: The company specializes in custom and production slitting of a wide range of steel and aluminum products. Facility operations include slitting, packaging, shipping, receiving and warehousing.

Position Summary: This is a management role reporting to the Plant Manager. This position is responsible for supervising plant operations.

Principal Accountabilities:

• Supervise and work with employees to ensure productivity is maintained at a high level with quality output.
• Communicate with customer service to provide information on production status for customer jobs.
• Use ERP and Quality software to properly document and record quality, safety and disciplinary issues
• Adhere to and enforce company operational and safety policies and procedures
• Approve payroll hours for supervised employees.
• Assist plant employees in completion of work when short-handed.
• Enforcement of disciplinary and attendance procedures.
• Provide direction to employees in completion of their duties and assist in decision making when quality, safety or other unforeseen issues arise.
• Monitor employee activity during shift to enforce lunch and break policies
• Perform other duties as assigned

Position Requirements:

• Medium to high physical effort may required
• Ability to use computer software for scheduling and reporting
• Ability to communicate verbally, both in person and on the telephone
• Ability to adhere to policies and procedures
• Ability to supervise personnel in performance of duties
• Must be able to work weekends
• Must be able to work any shift.
• Position normally requires 50-65 hours per week

Preferred Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 5 years of experience in production environment
• Previous supervisory duties
• Steel Slitting experience highly preferred
• Forklift Operation
• Overhead Crane operation
• Shipping/receiving
