After nearly 17 years of dedicated service to Colonial Country Club, Alicia Singer has decided to retire and embrace the next exciting chapter of her life. Alicia has driven the growth of the retail component during her time at Colonial, highlighted by her recent recognition as the 2023 Merchandiser of the Year (Private) for the Metro Section and her selection as the 2024 Merchandiser of the Year for the North Texas Section. These accolades reflect her unwavering commitment to excellence and innovation in the retail domain.
Position Overview:
The Director of Retail (DOR) at Colonial Country Club will oversee all aspects of the club’s retail operations, ensuring exceptional service, product quality, and financial performance. The ideal candidate for this role should align with Colonial’s commitment to excellence. Inspired by the vision of Colonial’s founder, Marvin J. Leonard, who believed that excellence is never permanent, the club is currently investing $100 million into its facilities and amenities. These improvements include a golf course renovation designed by world-renowned architect Gil Hanse and a new clubhouse, which will feature a redesigned Golf Shop and dining areas.
Colonial’s dedication to excellence also extends to delivering its signature service to members and guests. Signature Service provides a warm welcome, creates generational memories, and offers personalized experiences. It also honors Colonial's rich history in the game of golf. As the host of the Charles Schwab Challenge, the longest-running PGA Tour event at the same venue, Colonial pays tribute each day to its past champions and to Mr. Leonard’s legacy, respecting both the traditions of the game and the club.
The DOR will play an active role in upholding this culture by fostering a hospitable, servant-hearted attitude and a strong commitment to delivering exceptional experiences for members and guests. The DOR will demonstrate honesty, integrity, and respect for Colonial's esteemed history and traditions while embracing the spirit of the game of golf. As a family-oriented professional, the DOR will contribute to creating a welcoming, community-focused atmosphere within the club.
