The Fine Dining Host/Hostess is the first and last point of contact for members and guests in our upscale dining venue. This individual sets the tone for an exceptional experience through warm welcomes, professional demeanor, and expert coordination of reservations and seating. As a key member of the service team, the Host/Hostess works closely with the maître d’, servers, and culinary staff to ensure flawless service and a memorable dining experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet members and guests with warmth, professionalism, and genuine hospitality
- Manage reservations using the club’s dining system (e.g., OpenTable or similar)
- Maintain a waitlist during peak times and communicate accurate wait times
- Coordinate table assignments to maximize flow and server efficiency
- Provide accurate information about menu offerings, club events, and dining hours
- Respond to special member requests, dietary needs, or accessibility concerns
- Communicate with service staff to ensure smooth seating transitions
- Monitor dining room appearance and ambiance (lighting, music, cleanliness)
- Maintain the entry and hostess stand in pristine, organized condition
- Support additional front-of-house duties as needed
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Poised, polished, and well-groomed with a service-first attitude
- Professional demeanor under pressure and ability to manage high-volume environments
- Familiarity with POS and reservation systems preferred
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- TABC (Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission) Certification and ServSafe Certification required by first date of employment
