The Regulatory Compliance Manager will oversee the company’s regulatory compliance activities in relation to the sales and distribution of chemicals. This role ensures that all products meet federal, state, and local regulatory requirements, and that the company adheres to the various safety, environmental, and regulatory standards applicable to our operations. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented, proactive professional with expertise in chemical industry regulations and a strong track record of ensuring compliance in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

JOB EXPECTATIONS/DUTIES

Key Responsibilities:
  • Regulatory Oversight: Stay updated on federal, state, and local regulations relevant to chemical sales, distribution, and storage, including but not limited to OSHA, EPA, DOT, and FDA regulations.
  • Compliance Management: Develop, implement, and monitor compliance programs to ensure the company’s operations align with all applicable regulations.
  • Policy Development: Establish and maintain internal policies and procedures to support regulatory compliance and ensure the safe handling and distribution of chemicals.
  • Training and Education: Collaborate with training department to develop and implement compliance training programs for staff to ensure all employees understand and adhere to relevant safety protocols, laws, and company policies.
  • Audit and Reporting: Conduct regular compliance audits to assess adherence to regulations and report findings to senior management, recommending corrective actions where needed.
  • Regulatory Reporting: Work with group EHS team to manage regulatory reporting and documentation requirements, ensuring timely submission to relevant authorities.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify potential compliance risks and assist in developing strategies to mitigate them.
  • Customer & Vendor Compliance: Work closely with customers and vendors to ensure that all supply chain and distribution practices meet regulatory standards.
  • Liaison with Regulatory Agencies: Serve as the primary point of contact for CCS to work with CGI group resources for interactions with regulatory agencies, including inspections, audits, and inquiries.
  • Product Safety: Ensure that products are properly labeled, and that safety data sheets (SDS) are up-to-date and accessible.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Regulatory Affairs, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in regulatory compliance, ideally in the chemical sales, manufacturing, or distribution industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of chemical regulations, including OSHA, EPA, DOT, and related local/state regulations.
  • Experience with chemical product safety, hazardous materials handling, and environmental management systems.
  • Strong understanding of product labeling and safety data sheet (SDS) requirements.
  • Ability to interpret complex regulations and communicate them clearly to both technical and non-technical staff.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, climb ladders, stairs, and walk at a fast pace. The employee must be able to wear PPE up to Level B, and may occasionally lift or move up to 40 lbs.

Overnight traveling is required occasionally up to 25% annually.
