Job Responsibilities
- Safely operate vacuum trucks to collect, transport, and dispose of industrial waste, liquids, sludge, and other materials in compliance with all safety and regulatory standards.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and optimal performance.
- Complete thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections, addressing any mechanical issues promptly.
- Ensure strict adherence to environmental, health, and safety regulations, promoting sustainability and protecting personnel and the environment.
- Maintain accurate material collection, transport, and disposal records for accountability and compliance.
- Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and clients to coordinate and execute tasks efficiently.
- Report equipment, safety, or job site concerns promptly to support proactive solutions and smooth operations.
- Follow established protocols and actively participate in emergency response efforts, including handling spills, accidents, and natural disasters.
- Assist in disaster response operations, such as hurricanes and other emergencies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned, supporting team and operational needs as required.
- Valid Class A OR Class B CDL with hazmat and tanker endorsements required.
- Proven experience operating vacuum trucks or similar commercial vehicles with vacuum systems.
- Skilled in safely handling and transporting hazardous materials in compliance with DOT regulations.
- Committed to safety by adhering to site-specific requirements and wearing appropriate PPE.
- Mechanically proficient with strong troubleshooting abilities to resolve issues efficiently.
- Extensive knowledge of safety protocols for towing, transportation, and hazardous material handling.
- Maintains a clean driving record with a strong focus on safety, compliance, and best practices.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with teams, clients, and regulatory bodies.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure or in emergencies.
- Flexible to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
- Willingness to travel to meet operational demands.
