Landscaping Technician (Part-time): Performs landscaping and grounds maintenance for municipal grounds, public roadways, and related facilities (25 hours per week; days & hours vary).
• Cuts grass and edges walkways, curbs, and flower beds.
• Plants and maintains grass, flowers, trees and shrubs.
• Prunes, mulches and waters plant and shrub beds.
• Collects and disposes of debris and litter.
• Other duties as assigned.
• 1-year of related work experience.
• At least 18 years of age.
• General knowledge of landscaping equipment
• Valid VA driver's license.
• Successfully pass a background investigation and pre-employment medical/drug screening.
The work requires physical exertion such as walking over rough or difficult terrain; recurring standing, stooping, climbing or walking; recurring lifting of moderately heavy items weighing between 25 and 75 pounds and may require the occasional lifting of objects weighing in excess of 74 pounds. The work may require specific physical characteristic and abilities such as heightened strength, mobility, and dexterity.
The work environment involves high risks with exposure to potentially dangerous situations or unusual environmental stress that require a range of safety and other precautions.
