Job Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Camp Counselor to join our team for an engaging and rewarding summer camp experience. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with elementary children, fostering their development through various activities, and creating a safe and fun environment. The Counselor will lead a group of 20 campers in activities that promote teamwork, creativity, and personal growth while ensuring the well-being of each child.
Duties
- Supervise and engage with campers during daily activities, ensuring their safety and enjoyment.
- Plan and lead various recreational activities including sports, arts and crafts, and educational programs.
- Provide guidance and support to campers, fostering positive relationships and encouraging personal development.
- Implement classroom management techniques to maintain a respectful and productive environment.
- Assist in the development of age-appropriate programs that align with childhood development principles.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding camper progress and any concerns that may arise.
- Collaborate with fellow staff members to create a cohesive team atmosphere that promotes inclusivity and respect.
Requirements
- Experience working with children in a camp or educational setting is preferred.
- Background in early childhood education or childhood development is highly desirable.
- Skills in sports and/or coaching are a plus, enhancing the variety of activities offered at camp.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with students from diverse backgrounds.
- Knowledge of Christian counseling principles is beneficial.
- Ability to manage groups effectively while maintaining a positive attitude.
- First Aid/CPR certification is preferred but not required; training may be provided.

Pay: $11.00 - $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
