Position Description
Position Title: Banquet Captain
Reports To: Banquet Manager
Prerequisites:
¨ Experience: Previous restaurant or hospitality related experience is madatory. Must be able to provide exceptional customer service skills.
¨ Criteria:
· Able to facilitate given instructions
· Able to work scheduled shifts required for position with flexibility
· Dependability and punctuality
¨ Physical Requirements:
· Must be able to handle multiple tasks at one time
· Requires the ability to stand for long periods of time
· Requires the ability to lift at least 20 pounds
· Able to physically perform all expected duties of position
Tasks and Job Duties:
-Supervise banquet staff and delegate as needed
-Act on guest concerns or bring them to the attention of the banquet manager
· Able to read and understand posted BEO’s (Banquet Event Orders)
· Greet guests and provide for their needs
· Set tables for functions according to seating chart
· Gather necessary dishes, silverware and glasses as instructed on paperwork
· Serve meals to guests
· Maintain cleanliness of guest tables and work area from start to finish
· Check I.D.’s if you suspect an underage drinker
· Clear tables and bring dirty dishes to dish area and place in proper racks
