Position Summary

Reporting to the VPHR, the Director of Human Resources Operations is responsible for the Company’s HR operation, including but not limited to personnel management, overseeing recruiting, benefits, employee relations, payroll, equal opportunity and affirmative action, recognition programs, and more.  In concert with the VPHR, plans, implements, and measures strategic initiatives that support the employee’s life cycle and the company’s overall long-term goals, both financial and non-financial.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides advice and assistance to managers, directors, and executives in interpreting and applying policies and practices: provides guidance to resolve problems; reviews all disciplinary actions and proposed terminations with the appropriate management level.
  • Oversees the coordination of recruitment efforts for all open and new positions and is directly involved with senior management searches.  
  • Partners with VPHR to design, develop, and deliver HR strategic initiatives (e.g., talent assessment, succession planning, employee engagement, career development, recognition, etc.) annually. 
  • Executes the full benefits function, including but not limited to administration of company benefits programs and annual renewal process to include ensuring the company sources competitive medical, dental, and other applicable benefit rates, designated deadlines complete open enrollment, and new employees receive eligible benefits in a timely and consistent manner.
  • Oversees the HRIS projects as the SME for enabling ADP functionalities that improve effectiveness throughout the organization, i.e., performance review cycle, incentive review cycle, disciplinary action cycle, compliance notices, etc.

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (continued)

  • Interacts with various corporate departments to conduct employee-based investigations and then provided written summaries and proposed remediation plans for the hiring manager's consideration and decision-making.
  • Partners with leadership and development leaders to ensure that new employees learn their respective positions and that existing employees develop their careers by enabling the company’s training programs.
  • With VPHR, design and deliver KPI management reporting consistently and timely.
  • Manage all Human Resources data management and reporting aspects, meeting internal and external reporting needs.
  • Ensures compliance with the annual EEO-1 report, OSHA, and personnel files by organizing and storing them in accordance with external compliance requirements.
  • Works with external brokers and internal department heads to ensure the timely reporting and filing of annual requirements in EEO, Payroll Tax, Retirement, and W-2s.
  • Oversee the administration and provide leadership for revising various employee service and recognition programs.
  • Partners with Risk Management to effectively manage Workers' Compensation cases.

 

Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists senior management with special projects related to location openings and closings, corporate-wide initiatives, and specific HR objectives.
  • Other special projects as assigned by VPHR.

 

Minimum Job Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of 7 years of overall human resources field experience and 1 to 2 years of experience as a director of human resources are required.
  • Established experience in Microsoft Office Products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and HRIS and Payroll software systems.
  • ADP WFN proficiency required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
  • A robust work ethic is required.

 

Qualifications Desired

  • Experience in the parking or hospitality industry desired but not required.


 

 

 

Performance Standards

This position will receive an annual performance review from the direct supervisor, which will discuss actual performance compared to company-stated expectations and agreed-upon job-related performance goals for the upcoming year.

Physical Demands: To perform the duties associated with this position, the employee will be required to stand, walk, sit, use hands-to-fingers, handle tools or controls, reach with hands or arms, talk, and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 lbs. 

 

Work Environment:  While performing the duties of this position, the employee may be subjected to weather conditions that are prevalent at the time.  The noise level in this work environment can range from minimal to moderate. 

 

Internal Contacts

This position will regularly interact with location management, corporate office employees, senior management, peers, and field employees.

 

External Contacts

This position will contact clients, customers, carriers, brokers, and other vendors regularly.
