Position: Coach
Location: George Read Middle School
Reports to: Principal/Athletic Director
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Conducts tryouts and informs team candidates about eligibility requirements
2. Determines team membership and provides a team roster to the Athletic Director
For the checking of athletic eligible
3. Plans and supervises practices and games. Develops the schedule for all practices
4. Directs the procurement of medical assistance during practices and games
5. Supervises locker room before and after practices and games
6. Coordinates with the Athletic Director for ordering, maintaining and storing
Athletic equipment.
7. Identifies students to receive awards. Participates in and support school
Award ceremonies and recognition activities.
8. Directs and supervises the activities of the assistant coach(es).
9. Files an end of the season report as directed by the Athletic Director.
10. Assists, in concert with the Athletic Director, in the development of the
Sport’s budget.
11. Ensures compliance with all state and district policies and regulations,
Including the promotion of sportsmanship and character among student
Athletes.
12. Provides an inventory of equipment at the close of the sports program.
13. Serves as liaison with parents of students involved an works with
Appropriate Booster group as approved by the School Principal.
14. Performs other duties as assigned by the Principal and/or Athletic Director
15. Current Criminal Background Check and Child Registry on file with District

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of this job. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
