What are the responsibilities and job description for the Apprentice Tinsmith position at Colonial Williamsburg Foundation?
Responsibilities
Interprets 18th century Revolutionary War history as well as learns how to manufacture 18th century tinware using tin-plated iron and period tools in a period environment. The apprentice follows a curriculum to learn the skills of a period tinsmith while interpreting to the public.
Qualifications
- Must have good communication skills, learn, execute, demonstrate, research, and teach varied hand skills usually gained through progressive work experience.
- Must have the ability to handle multiple priorities while working within a set of guidelines and procedures with general supervision, adapting to a changing work environment, and working a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
