Project Manager

ColonialWebb’s Project Manager will be responsible for accurately preparing cost estimates for mechanical projects and overseeing project execution from inception to completion. This dual role requires a keen analytical mind, technical expertise, and strong leadership to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

A day in the life:

Estimation Duties:

• Cost Analysis: Review project documents, drawings, and specifications to develop detailed cost estimates for mechanical systems.
• Material & Labor Estimation: Calculate quantities, costs of materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services.
• Bid Preparation: Prepare competitive and comprehensive bids and proposals, ensuring alignment with client requirements and industry standards.
• Data Management: Maintain detailed records of estimates, pricing, and vendor information for future reference and benchmarking.

Project Management Duties:

• Project Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans including timelines, resource allocation, budgeting, and risk management strategies.
• Team Leadership: Lead cross-functional teams to execute projects, ensuring clear communication, accountability, and collaboration while exceeding quality standards
• Progress Monitoring: Track project milestones, monitor progress against plans, and adjust schedules as necessary to maintain project momentum.
• Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, vendors, and internal teams; provide regular status updates and address any issues promptly.
• Problem Solving: Proactively identify project challenges and implement effective solutions to maintain project timelines and quality.
• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including change orders, meeting minutes, and progress reports.

You should have:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred – project management certifications are a plus
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical estimation and project management within the construction or mechanical services industry.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in estimation software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or equivalent).
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, construction methods, and industry standards.
• Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent).
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to diverse audiences.
• Interpersonal Skills: Strong leadership qualities with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
