What are the responsibilities and job description for the Personal Care Assistant (PCA)- Full-Time or Part-Time Day Shift position at Colony Court Senior Living Solutions?
We are seeking to fill full time or part time day shift positions.
PCA's (Personal Care Assistant) main role is to provide basic care to patients in a memory care suite assisted living community, assisting them in daily activities they might have trouble with on their own, such as bathing. Because of the personal nature of the job, we are seeking applicants that possess people skills and the ability to be compassionate and enjoy helping others.
PCA’s / CNA’s assist patients with daily activities and with additional training have additional responsibilities, such as administering medication. The core functions on the job include:
- Bathe and dress residents
- Serve meals and help residents eat
- Take vital signs
- Turn or reposition residents who are bedridden
- Collect information about conditions and treatment plans from caregivers, nurses and doctors
- Lift patients into beds, wheelchairs, etc.
- Answer resident calls
- Examine residents for bruises, blood in urine or other injuries/wounds
PCA's also serve as a conduit between patients and nurses and doctors and record and communicate all issues to medical staff.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
