What are the responsibilities and job description for the Regional Finance Manager position at Colony Hardware Corporation?
Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, this position has primary responsibility for oversight of the general accounting and reporting functions while ensuring proper adherence to U.S. GAAP. This role will also be involved in analyzing and understanding the drivers in the financial performance of branches, customers and sales reps within the region. Candidates must be organized and have great attention to detail. They must be reliable and able to carry out tasks autonomously and collaboratively. There will also be responsibility for managing and developing the Senior Accountants reporting to this position.
A Little About Your Day:
- Manage the accounting close process, including review of account reconciliations, journal entries, and accruals to ensure a timely and accurate financial close.
- Contribute to the development of internal controls and process improvements with strong documentation.
- Responsible for ensuring timely and accurate reporting from the Company’s acquired entities.
- This role will also be a main point of contact for financial performance-related inquiries from various teams throughout the organization, necessitating you to prepare and analyze consolidated reporting across the region on actuals, budgets, forecasts, and prior year results.
- Participate in the post-acquisition integration of acquired companies and opening of new company locations.
- Responsible for variance analysis and narrative of actual to budget and period-over-period results.
- Participate in the annual budget and forecast process.
- Drive continuous improvements in process with a focus on efficiency and effectiveness, while leveraging and implementing key systems.
- Support the VP of Finance and team during the annual financial audit, worker compensation audit, income tax audits, etc.
- Address ad hoc reporting and projects as periodically requested by the accounting team.

What You’ll Need to Have for success:
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline.
- 5 years of finance and accounting experience.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Extensive knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
- People management experience (preferably overseeing individuals in a remote working environment).
Strongly Preferred
- CPA.
- Experience in the distribution or similar industry.
- Experience with data analysis and visualization tools such a PowerBI.
- Experience with large-scale Epicor Prophet 21 and Netsuite.
