Designer Sales Specialist

Traditionally the position I have is referred to as an RSA (Retail Sales Associate). But the person I'm looking for ideally has a passion for interior design, loves working with people, relates well with almost anyone, and sees sales from a service perspective. I need someone who communicates clearly and timely, and doesn't get overwhelmed easily. I run a very lean staff and cross train my employees to allow everyone the opportunity to take time off and not come back feeling like they are going to be overwhelmed by all the work they missed while away. 

We use email and phone a lot to communicate with customers and suppliers. We use an industry specific software to manage our sales process from developing ideas in proposals to finalizing sales with customers and ordering products. We use an online calendar for the scheduling of jobs as well as scheduling time off and other business related appointments. We use online tools and shared folders to keep track of our suppliers pricing pages and other business documents. The computer systems we use are fairly basic, but necessary in our daily operations.  

Ideally this is a full time position. It is a salary position with benefits. I offer health insurance and a 401k benefit. I also offer paid time off for vacation days and sick leave, and I try to be overly generous and fair with my employees and have found my employees are also overly fair and generous with me in return. 

Responsibilities

You will work with homeowners, contractors, builders, and other designers to create interior spaces. You will need to be familiar with computer systems and able to learn our industry specific software.

Qualifications

Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.

Strong work ethic.

Design skills to include color coordination and visualization.

Understanding and competence of simple computer skills: email, online calendars, spreadsheets, typing.
