What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Scribe/Medical Assistant position at Colorado Brain and Spine Institute?
Neurosurgical practice looking to introduce scribes to our office. This would be a great opportunity for anyone looking to learn more about the medical field and how different roles interact w/ each other to provide the best patient care. Exposure and experience if you're pre-med or pre-PA as scribe hours are counted towards clinical training for most PA and medical school programs.
We will provide on the job training. If appropriate, can set up times for PA and surgeon shadowing inpatient and in the operating room as well. We have flexibility to expand the role to a full time position but it will start off as part time. The successful candidate to be detail-oriented and have strong communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Communicate with physicians and PAs as well as with medical staff (schedulers, front office staff, medical assistants)
- Meet regulatory requirements for confidentiality of patient information.
- Document patient information accurately and completely. Send to physicians for review.
Qualifications:
- Computer proficiency
- Excellent typing proficiencies and ability to work in a fast-paced office
- Graduation for an accredited high school or equivalent
- Course in medical terminology preferred
Experience:
- One year of work experience in a medical office setting preferred
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 12 per week
