Junior Research Embryologist / Laboratory Technician
The Junior Research Embryologist / Laboratory Technician position will demonstrate knowledge and skill related to cellular, molecular and physiological experiments in mammalian gametes, embryos and fetuses, as well as animal handling, laboratory maintenance and support. This position directly reports to the Scientific Director and should function in an independent fashion supporting our Research projects. This position should be responsible, reliable, have attention to detail, and a desire to develop professionally.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assist with mouse research experiments including independently performing animal injections, oocyte, sperm and embryo recovery, embryo culture, embryo transfer, embryo and fetal/placenta recovery, animal anesthesia, euthanasia and vasectomies, and all associated media preparation.
- Assist with clinical research studies including IVF sample collection, processing, and patient data collection from the EMR system.
- Assist with experiments to assess various cellular and molecular endpoints in oocytes, sperm, preimplantation mammalian embryos, and fetal/placenta samples using multiple analytical techniques.
- Accurately and completely collect data from experiments. Thoroughly record, report and discuss research results with supervisors, assist in planning further work.
- Work as part of the Research team fulfilling general laboratory duties and whatever is needed to ensure the laboratory is in working order, well stocked, and maintained properly.
- Assist in interpretation of experimental results, possibly resulting in assistance with preparation of manuscripts, abstracts, or other forms of research presentation.
- Read scientific literature, participate in journal clubs, and present at ASRM.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Sciences, Biology, Cell and Molecular Biology, or a related field is required.
- Scientific laboratory experience required, 1-3 years.
- Strong ability to follow procedures and protocols is essential.
- Strong computer and excel skills, knowledge of computer database system with accurate and efficient data entry experience required. Ability to operate basic office equipment.
- Must be organized with a strong ability to multi-task, prioritize, have strong attention to detail, and a strong ability to utilize time efficiently while maintaining a positive attitude and flexibility.
- Must have a strong ability to act independently as well as be able to work effectively in a team.
- Must have excellent communication and customer service skills, ability to consistently communicate positively and professionally with all staff members, physicians and patients.
- Maintain confidentiality of all work information, including strict confidentiality for all patient and clinic information, consistent with established security and confidentiality policies and HIPAA regulation at all times.
- Understand and assess for domestic violence and child abuse issues and reporting responsibilities. Will report concerns to the Director.
- Ability to work weekends, and holidays when needed.
Will work Monday through Friday, 7:30am-4pm, occasional weekend shift when needed.
This position is a full time benefitted position, working 40hrs/week.
Salary : $65,000 - $70,000
