The mission of the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless is to work collaboratively toward the prevention of homelessness and the creation of lasting solutions for homeless and at-risk families, children, and individuals throughout Colorado. The Coalition advocates for and provides a continuum of housing and a variety of services to improve the health, well-being, and stability of those it serves.
The Groundskeeper position performs routine and extensive groundskeeping and building maintenance duties at the Fort Lyon facility.

Essential Job Functions
- Maintain cleanliness of grounds for the Fort Lyon facility.
- Keep walks and pathways cleared of debris year-round.
- Maintain lawns and outdoor landscaping (including mowing, edging, raking, power washing, etc.)
- Trim and plant grass, flowers, trees and shrubs as needed.
- Install and maintain irrigation systems, fire hydrants, hard water system, etc.
- Install rock, cement, lighting, water and furniture as needed.
- Safely operate light and heavy equipment such as trucks, tractors, fork lifts, street sweepers, riding and push mowers, paint machines, and other maintenance equipment.
- Ensure grounds and building maintenance equipment are operational by performing routine and preventative maintenance and cleaning.
- Supervises Resident Work Crew members.
- May include 24-7 on call responsibilities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Consistently superb customer service skills; excellent interpersonal/assertive communications skills demonstrating a high degree of emotional intelligence.
- Knowledge of homeless issues and demonstrated sensitivity to and a desire to work with underserved populations.
- Experience in operating maintenance equipment.
- Basic understanding of cleaning techniques and time management.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
- 5 years grounds maintenance experience preferred.
