Description
Performs one or more tasks to weld door and window frames as specified in a fabrication report, including special instructions, elevations, templates, and labels. Checks material for gauge, handing, opening size, reinforcements, window dimensions, straight jambs, hardware locations on punched material, all within tolerance (1/32). This work is performed with welding equipment and various power hand tools.

- Familiarity with the safe use of welding equipment and power hand tools, including jig saw, grinder, sawzall, die grinder, screw gun, drills, and sanders
- Knowledge and understanding of fabrication orders, templates, elevations, and labels
- Knowledge of frame components and application of parts
- Knowledge of how to read a tape measure
- Understanding of CURRIES code charts
- Ability to perform job in a safe and professional manner
Qualifications
- Knowledge and understanding fabrication orders, templates, and elevations
- Knowledge of how to read a tape measure
- Knowledge of frame components and application of parts
- Welding skills, including bending tabs in toward middle of head, welding spreaders at bottom of frame, tacking inside and outside of miter, squaring up frame, welding face and returns
- Familiarity with welding equipment and power hand tools, including jig saw, grinder, sawzall, die grinder, screw gun, drills, and sanders
- Understanding of CURRIES code charts
- Ability to be on feet all day
- Ability to bend and kneel
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Ability to weld 10-15 three-sided frames per hour
- Ability to flip, carry, and secure frames
- Lots of repetitive movement, i.e., flipping hood up and down, clamping corners
- Exposure to smoke and fumes from welder
- Responsible for use and care of personal protective equipment
- Keep area and tools clean, maintained, and safe; report damaged tools and equipment
- Requires standing, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling
