About Beyond Dreams Therapy at Colorado Dream Foundation
Colorado Dream Foundation recognized the urgent need for accessible mental health services within the Denver area and launched our therapeutic services in the fall of 2021 and began doing business as Beyond Dreams Therapy at Colorado Dream Foundation in July 2024. We provide a range of services, including individual and small group therapy, to community members of all ages. Through the use of our client-centered care and the utilization of best practices, we strive to create a supportive environment and envision a Denver where everyone has the opportunity to thrive through affordable and accessible mental health care.
ABOUT THE POSITION
The Therapeutic Services Intern is a key member of Beyond Dream Therapy at Colorado Dream Foundation's Clinical Team. The Intern supports the behavioral and mental health needs of clients within the Emotional Wellness Development Program, working alongside program participants and 1:1 therapy clients ages four through adulthood. Additionally, they will serve as an advocate for all youth and families on their caseload and within the greater Colorado Dream Foundation program. This position has a heavy emphasis on clinical methods and practices. It is best suited for an intern who is in their concentration year (social work) or practicum or internship phase (counseling). The intern will report to the Therapeutic Services Manager and work across the organization to meet the needs of the communities.
The 2025-2026 Internship class will be piloting an internship to fellowship program model and are asking for a two-year commitment from candidates. Post graduation, Interns will transition to a Associate-Behavioral Health Therapist role where they will maintain and grow their caseload, receive a minimum of eleven months of clinical supervision towards their state license, and receive an hourly pay increase to align with their experience. More information about this pilot program and role transition will be provided during the interview process.
The Therapeutic Services Intern's primary responsibilities include:
Clinical Service Delivery
- Program Facilitation
- Provide direct therapeutic care and management of clients, ages four through adulthood, by developing and implementing therapeutic treatment plans as well as developing a therapeutic relationship with clients (and families, where applicable) to assist with behavioral health challenges
- All interns are required to work 20-hours a week and will maintain a caseload of 10-12 clients
- Opportunities to collaborate, lead, monitor, and co-facilitate educational and therapeutic groups for clients and community members
- Collaboration & Feedback
- Collaborate with other Clinical Team members and serve as a liaison with multi-disciplinary team members and external community partners
- Participate in 1:1 supervision with a licensed clinical professional (LPC or LSW, LCSW) to ensure the successful implementation of therapeutic skills.
- Attend and participate in group supervision opportunities with other interns
- Data Analysis
- Complete behavioral health assessments for treatment planning or crisis intervention
- Analyze data and prepare case records, reports, and documentation to ensure compliance with state and federal standards of care
Other Duties
- Build strong relationships with and among clients
- Participate in Colorado DreamFoundation all-staff training, meetings, and events
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Pursuing a Masters or Doctoral degree in social work, counseling, or another related field
- Therapy Intern applicants who are Candidates in Master of Social Work programs must be in their second year of school.
- Candidates in Counseling programs will be accepted at any point in their education after a successful interview.
- Developing clinical skills and a thorough understanding of child development and behavior
- Proven desire and motivation to individualize and use holistic therapeutic approaches to meet the needs of clients, moving them forward toward the achievement of therapeutic goals
- Awareness of trauma-informed care and experience in embedding the principles into daily work with youth

- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking Spanish is highly preferred
