Description
Position Purpose
The Long Term Substitute Instructor works under the supervision of the Academic Dean and provides support and encourages student learning in the event that a classroom instructor is unable to lead class for an extended and continuous period of time.
Job Duties

Upholds CEC’s beliefs found on the CEC website.

Follows lesson plans provided by the classroom instructor to support a consistent and continuing learning experience for students.

Effectively manages the classroom to encourage student participation, to minimize distractions, and to maintain a positive learning environment.

Logs daily student attendance into IC for each class as required in CEC policies.

Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to student and small group learning by ensuring student conduct conforms with CEC’s Student and Family Handbook and CEC policies.

Participates in professional development as requested by the Academic Dean.

Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Experience working with students preferred.
