Colorado Enterprise Fund (CEF) is a nonprofit business lending organization dedicated to the success of small businesses in Colorado. We provide access to capital for Colorado small businesses that are unable to access traditional financing. Our primary focus areas are business owners who may be low to moderate income, minority, women, or veterans. Colorado small business owners and entrepreneurs seek aid from our organization in moving towards the major step of asking for financial loans that they have not been able to find from traditional resources such as banks.
The Credit Analyst performs complete commercial loan credit analysis to assist lending officers in credit decision process; obtains all available and necessary financial data from client; performs specialized reviews of collateral or loan exposures; tracks the loan application process and maintains organized files of information received from potential borrowers; prepares credit memoranda and supporting materials.
CEF offers a hybrid work environment with a blend of in-office and remote work. Candidates must be Colorado based and can expect to work in the office three days per week.
Requirements :
On a given day, your work might include :
- Reviewing, evaluating, and analyzing loan application materials and other data to determine loan viability and to identify risk and potential fraud.
- Exercising independent judgement and experience in recommending / negotiating alternative loan requirements, funding, or loan structuring solutions.
- Underwriting various lending requests from $10,000 to $250,000 primarily for small business. Some community facilities and childcare facilities underwriting will also be included.
- Operating as a trusted advisor to the Lending team through all stages of the loan application and approval process.
- Analyzing financial statements, tax returns, and other financial project / borrower information.
- Examining credit checks / credit bureau reports.
- Maintaining client and portfolio information with precision and efficiency, ensuring timely information that supports the generation of accurate and up-to-date investor and internal reports.
- Preparing loan portfolio reports, on an as-needed basis, for investor, grant, and / or program applications.
- Accompanying lenders on client calls and onsite inspections.
- Creating call memos and other reports summarizing client meetings and / or site inspections.
- Working with lenders and borrowers in identifying and collecting missing financial and / or project information. Interacts with borrowers to resolve any outstanding issues / itemsrelated to new borrowing requests.
- Preserving an environment of highly efficient customer service at all points of contact with CEF clients when responding to borrower and / or participant inquiries and requests.
- Assisting the Credit Team in structuring new loan requests and extensions of existing loans.
- Other duties as assigned.
