Hybrid available after 90 days
Starting Salary:
- $20.16 per hour (for 3 years or less of relevant experience)
- $21.12 per hour (for 3 years of relevant experience)

Position Summary:
The Health Access Program Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the coordination and delivery of services related to the State Drug Assistance Program (SDAP). This role focuses on assisting clients with health insurance enrollment, ensuring eligibility, and supporting individuals as they navigate the healthcare system. You will be the primary point of contact for clients seeking assistance with enrolling in insurance plans and ensuring they receive the support they need.
Essential Job Functions:
- Client Education: Inform clients and the public about SDAP and related healthcare reforms, ensuring they understand their options and benefits.
- Collaboration: Work closely with AIDS Service Organizations, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE), and other stakeholders to address and troubleshoot any challenges related to Health Access Programs.
- Client Enrollment: Assist clients in completing program enrollment for health insurance plans, including Connect for Health Colorado, Colorado Medicaid, and Medicare.
- Paperwork Support: Guide clients through the process of completing required forms and documentation for program participation.
- Data Management: Collect, process, and compile client data for accurate program reporting and record-keeping.
- Invoice Coordination: Oversee invoice processing and bill payments for clients enrolled in SDAP.
- Problem-Solving: Collaborate with clinics, pharmacies, and other partners to troubleshoot and resolve any issues clients may face in accessing healthcare or medications.
- Resource Management: Serve as a knowledgeable resource for clients seeking assistance with health insurance and healthcare access.
- Relationship Building: Maintain positive, professional relationships with clients and community partners to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned to support the goals of the Health Access Program.
Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a similar capacity, preferably as a Certified Application Counselor or Health Coverage Guide with Connect for Health Colorado, HealthCare.gov or another insurance marketplace; experience with direct client contact, and/or a customer service background; knowledge of health insurance and health care system. Ability to prioritize workload, function independently and collaborate with colleagues; strong attention to detail; demonstrated written and verbal communication skills; a working knowledge of Microsoft Office; training in cultural competency; knowledge of HIV and related issues. Spanish/English bilingual applicants preferred.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services, Public Health or related field preferred, but equivalent experience also considered.
Software Utilized:
Experience working with basic office and database computer programs, including familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, SharePoint and the internet.
Material and Equipment Directly Used:
Works with standard office equipment including computer work station, printers, copiers, scanners and fax machine. Works with word processing software, spreadsheet applications, and presentation software. Communicates with clients and vendors using the telephone, e-mail, the internet, and fax.
Physical Demands and Work Conditions:
Works in an office environment. May travel to offsite locations. Requires ability to lift up to 50 pounds of materials. Requires clear speaking ability and the ability to use a telephone for extended periods. Requires ability to view a computer screen (near acuity). Requires fingering agility for keyboarding and using a telephone and other office equipment.
