We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Part-Time Medical Assistant to join our Interventional Pain Management team in Denver, Colorado. This is a non-narcotic/non-opioid clinic, focusing on advanced interventional pain medicine procedures.
This position involves providing exceptional patient care and support in a specialized pain management environment, where the appropriate employee will be educated on the intricacies of pain medicine.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Interaction: Greet patients, escort them to examination rooms. Collect patient history prior to the physician's evaluation.
- Assist Physicians: Assist interventional pain management specialists during patient examinations, diagnostic procedures, and treatments.
- Documentation: Accurately document patient visits, including medical histories, medications (non-narcotic), interventions, and follow-up requirements in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Administrative Support: Manage patient scheduling, handle telephone inquiries, and assist with insurance verification, pre-authorizations, and other clerical tasks as needed.
- Clinic Maintenance: Ensure clinic areas are clean, well-stocked with necessary supplies, and that all equipment is in good working order.
- Travel: One day per month travel to our Colorado Springs clinic to provide support, requiring punctuality and reliability in managing travel time and responsibilities.
- Education in Pain Medicine: The appropriate employee will receive training and education on pain medicine, including understanding different non-opioid pain management techniques, medications, and patient education on managing chronic and acute pain through advanced interventional procedures.
Requirements:
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a medical office setting, with preference given to those with experience in pain management.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and non-opioid pain management procedures.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills for interaction with patients, physicians, and staff.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel to Colorado Springs 1x/month.
- Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
Work Schedule:
- Part-time hours: 2.5 days/week. Clinic every Monday, with additional flexible 1.5 days/week. This will be in advance per month. One day per month dedicated to travel to the Colorado Springs clinic.
- Specific days and hours may vary based on clinic needs.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour
