STATEMENT OF DUTIES
General Statement Of Duties:
Provides support and assistance to those responsible for case processing and coordination of judicial activities in the Colorado Judicial Department.
Distinguishing Factors:
Positions in this classification are distinguished from other classifications by the performance of routine, repetitive work with close supervision and limited decision-making. Incumbents will perform job functions that support those involved in case processing and coordination of cases for the court. Positions in this classification will perform some, but not the full range of functions in the Clerks’ Office or Division, and shall be limited to file maintenance, processing mail, serving as bailiff and/or as a receptionist.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
~~This a periodic contract position for Bailiff. Position requires travel to various Court locations within the 9th Judicial District (Garfield, Pitkin and Rio Blanco counties).
Primary duties include, but are not limited to, orienting jurors and working with them during check in, selection, trial, and deliberation phases of jury trials. Position requires excellent communication and organizational skills with attention to detail. Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
To be established at the local district.
Examples of work:
Filing, copying materials, scanning documents, serving as a receptionist, preparing the courtroom for proceedings, maintaining an orderly courtroom, and may include some data entry. Provides customer service.
May occasionally require travel.

Supervisor Responsibilities:
No formal supervisory responsibility. Responsible for one's own work.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education:
Graduation from high school or equivalent.
Physical Demands:
frequently is required to stand; sit; reach with hands and arms; and perform repetitive motions with wrists, hands, and fingers; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and high precarious places. Occasionally handles emergency or crisis situations; frequently subject to interruptions, and multiple calls and inquiries. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
