STATEMENT OF DUTIES
Summary of Job Classification:
Provides professional Realtime reporting and transcribing for court proceedings, hearings and conferences. Employees in this classification have obtained their Registered Professional Reporter (RPR) certification through the National Court Reporters Association (NCRA) and have a completion of at least 94% accuracy (the Colorado standard) on one of the following examinations: Certified Realtime Reporter (CRR), Certified Broadcast Captioner (CBC), Certified CART Provider (CCP) through the National Court Reporters Association (NCRA); or the Federal Certified Realtime Reporter (FCRR).
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
This requisition is regarding position #62673 for a vacant court reporter position. We are posting three requisitions: Court Reporter II, Court Reporter III, and Court Reporter IV. We will fill the one open position according to the credentials held by applicants in either of these postings.
After meeting the five-day minimum posting requirement, this position will be posted for 60 days. The first date of review will be February 4, 2025. New applications will be reviewed each Monday thereafter.
Salary offers are made based on several factors, including relevant experience, available budget, and compliance with the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, aligned with our compensation step plan.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform assigned essential functions listed below satisfactorily. Provides real time, verbatim court reporting services through stenographic shorthand for jury trials, preliminary hearings, motions hearings, and any applicable requested court proceedings.
Manages and maintains records and prioritizes transcript production. Prepares required reports and documentation pursuant to Chief Justice Directive 05-03 and local policies and procedures.
Ensures backup of all stenographic notes, rough drafts, and completed transcripts including reporter dictionaries, CAT software files, and stenographic machine files.
Assists team members, works on various hearings and/or trials as a team, shares files and work product, and attends weekly meetings.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisor Responsibilities:
Work requires the occasional direction of helpers, assistants, seasonal employees, interns, or temporary employees. The work performed by majority of employees is semi complex.

Contacts may require the consideration of different points of view to reach agreement. Elements of persuasion may be necessary to gain cooperation and acceptance of ideas. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience Equivalency:
Associate's degree or 2 years of college.
OR
Additional work experience in these or other related fields may be substituted on a year for year basis for the required formal education.
Work Related Experience:
1 to 3 years of court reporting experience.
Licenses and Certifications:
RPR certification through the NCRA plus meet Colorado standard for Realtime (94% accuracy on one of the applicable exams).
Physical Effort Requirements:
Medium Work- Exerting up to 35 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly having to move objects.
Work Environment:
Good-Relatively free from unpleasant environmental conditions and/or hazards.
Work Location:
Office or similar indoor environment.
Exposures:
