MISSION STATEMENT

The Office of Respondent Parents’ Counsel (ORPC) is an independent agency within the State of Colorado Judicial Branch that supports Colorado parents in the fight to preserve families, their dignity, and the constitutional right to parent in dependency and neglect cases. We recruit and train attorneys statewide, advocate for family-centered policies, and promote equity and transparency in the system through data. As a result of our work, more families are reunified and stronger together.

STATEMENT OF DUTIES

Key Responsibilities :

  • Billing Management and Oversight : Train staff and contractors to use our billing system, maintain clear policies and training materials, and conduct data analysis to identify discrepancies and areas for improvement.
  • Contracting Support : Ensure contractor compliance with training hours and billing practices and respond to inquiries and technical support requests.
  • Collaboration : Build strong team relationships with colleagues and work on multidisciplinary projects to improve processes and create efficiencies.
  • Administrative Support : Support the CFO to increase the agency’s capacity to be responsive, and produce high-quality work, especially during the annual budget.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    As the Compliance Analyst , you will help increase the ORPC’s capacity to thoroughly review all contractor and vendor billing requests, process payments within contractual timeframes, and engage in regular billing analysis and individualized review. You will participate in efforts to identify errors or potential fraud, respond to ongoing billing and review inquiries, identify areas for billing and data-recording improvement, support the annual contracting cycle, and assist with the annual budget and performance report processes. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, you will be an integral member of the internal accounting team and have opportunities to work on multidisciplinary projects throughout the agency.

    You are a motivated individual with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. You have the skills to identify inefficiencies, streamline processes, and deliver clear communication. You’ll excel in this role if you are :

  • Detail-oriented : You have a Bachelor’s degree and working knowledge of databases and reporting.
  • A Collaborative Team Member : You are motivated by teamwork and collaborative problem-solving, championing solutions and ensuring strong communication throughout.
  • Problem-Solver : You can respond effectively to internal and external inquiries that may require multiple steps to resolve, and you are committed to building a strong reputation among contractors and vendors.
  • Technical Proficiency : You have two years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, accounting, or a closely related field and you are adept at Microsoft. You have knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, State and Federal fiscal rules, regulations, and laws.
