STATEMENT OF DUTIES
Summary of Job Classification:
Administers and directs the jury program for a judicial district. Coordinates jury selection and other essential functions in accordance with state guidelines, statutes, Chief Justice Directives or other applicable rules and regulations. May lead or supervise employees or contractors.

Salary offers are based on a wide variety of factors including a candidate’s experience, skills, and education, as well as budget availability. Offers of employment typically start with the base salary for this position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform assigned essential functions listed below satisfactorily. Administers, organizes, and manages jury selection, scheduling, and orientation for a judicial district. Directs jurors during a legal proceeding and throughout the length of the trial process. Ensures all processes and procedures are compliant with applicable legislation.
Conducts jury calls for trials. Enters jury fees and payments, assigns jurors, and scans undeliverable summonses.
Oversees the jury selection process, including administering juror questionnaires, excusing, dismissing, and rescheduling jurors, and processing jury postponements by mail/email.
Prepares appropriate documentation for jury panels, including juror documentation, notebooks, and other relevant case information. Provides juror certificates and facilitates judicial performance evaluation survey to jurors. Retains jury in compliance with applicable regulations.
Assists jurors throughout the trial process. Explains courtroom procedures and processes, addresses questions and concerns, and provides accommodations to ensure accessibility for jurors such as hearing devices. Responds to inquiries via email and phone.
Assigns and trains bailiffs for each trial.
Develops and presents a report for the annual jury commission meeting.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Fiscal Responsibility:
May assist in the collection of data in support of recommendations for functional area budget allocations. May monitor division or program/promotional level budget and expenditures.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience Equivalency:
Bachelor’s degree in the field of Law, Criminology, or related field.
OR
Additional work experience in these or other related fields may be substituted on a year for year basis for the required formal education.
Work Related Experience:
1 to 3 years of experience in law, administration, or similar field.

None.
Physical Effort Requirements:
Sedentary Work- Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally.
