Responsible for ensuring all assigned duties related to piping, daily quality control and safety activities, and facility housekeeping objectives are understood and followed, working under the general direction of the Pipefitting Superintendent. Acts as resource and lead position for other team members.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure personal safety and the safety of crew members is top priority.
- Works and supervises a small to medium sized crew of workers and acts as first line of defense on job problems.
- Reads blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine the layout of piping systems, water supply networks and waste and drainage systems.
- Works in cooperation with other trades and laborers to ensure that all specifications, legislation and policies are met, to ensure efficient completion of any project.
- Plans three weeks ahead and orders materials accordingly.
- Connects tubing and fittings using solder, brazing, work with welders, cutting pipe using a torch, ability to fit pipe,
- Directs workers engaged in preassembly and installation of hydro systems, mechanical rooms, chillers and boilers.
- Conduct weekly job safety meetings.
- Develops and maintains good working relationship with owner/site supervisor/maintenance director.
- Checks subordinate timecards for accuracy.
- Attends weekly jobsite meetings with GC’s and coordinates with the GC’s site supervisor.
- Informs Field Supervisor of changes, upset conditions or emergencies within the department.
- Ensure worksites are kept clear and clean from debris and trash,
- Keeps necessary records of installations and repairs performed on equipment to comply with government requirements and company Standard Operating Procedures.
- Completes all required paperwork using basic math skills as needed.

- Must be mechanically inclined
- Good analytical skills and attention to detail with ability to read and interpret blueprints and plans
- Must have a working knowledge, understanding and ability to comply with all Federal, State, Local, and Company regulations, policies, guidelines, and procedures
- Must have a working knowledge for the use of tools, including, but not limited to saws, cutting and solder torches, benders and welders.
- Must have a working knowledge and be able to operate the following equipment: forklift, man-lift and other vertical lifting equipment.
- Required to complete all required certifications and training for job level and show competence in assigned tasks under general supervision.
- Ability to follow and understand technical instructions and specifications.

- Proficient at using all test equipment associated with troubleshooting installed equipment.
Pay/Benefits:
Hourly Pay Rate: $45.00-$50.00/hr. depending on skill and experience.
