Assistant Professor of Chemistry
ABOUT THIS POSITION
Summary :
The Assistant Professor of Chemistry is a tenure-track faculty position primarily responsible for teaching introductory chemistry lecture and laboratory courses as well as upper division lecture and laboratory courses in his / her area of expertise. Preference will be given to candidates in analytical chemistry or related fields. Development of a research program for undergraduate students in the candidate's area of expertise is expected with the intention to promote student research skill development while progressing toward presentations and publications.
The standard teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester. Scholarship in the discipline, involvement with advising, and service to the university, department, and profession are expected.
Minimum Qualifications Required :
- PhD in chemistry or a closely related discipline by summer of 2025
- Ability and enthusiastic desire to teach introductory chemistry lecture and laboratory courses
- Eagerness for working with and inspiring undergraduate students at all levels
- Ability to communicate and work collaboratively and collegially with colleagues to further programmatic, departmental and university interests
Preferred Qualifications :
