Responsibilities and Qualifications
As the Assistant Dean of Student Affairs at Colorado Mountain College, you will be responsible for providing campus leadership and direction in supporting student success, including:
Cultivating a positive campus environment, overseeing and ensuring quality in a broad range of student-focused work, ensuring behavioral health and basic needs resources and referrals are available and communicated to the campus, and coordinating commencement ceremonies.
Analyzing the efficacy and impact of all programs and events and adapting accordingly, serving on campus safety and threat assessment teams, staying current on best practices, processing campus CARE and Incident Reports, participating in adjudication of Code of Conduct and Title IX proceedings, staying abreast of adversities that students encounter, and responding by updating and improving relevant services and programming.
Providing individual student advising and advocacy, offering high-quality guidance, care, mentoring, and knowledge tools for college success, interpreting assessments, generating comprehensive academic plans based upon understanding of program requirements and individual students' aptitudes and propensities, exploring student aspirations and career possibilities and pathways, monitoring student progress, and maintaining appropriate records to assist individual students and provide analytics to guide retention and completion initiatives.
Overseeing department staffing and scheduling, ensuring the highest quality campus enrollment, advising, access, and career services, guiding initial training and continued professional development for student services to keep staff skill sets current, developing and monitoring department budget and expenditures, aiding Assistant Deans of Instruction with strategic course scheduling, and faculty members with co-curricular supports.
Actively participating on the collegewide Student Affairs Leadership Team to collaborate on best practices and consistent systems, contributing to the development of long and short-term goals, ensuring implementation at the campus level, building and maintaining relationships with collegewide colleagues, serving as student liaison/advisor for student organizations, campus officials, and community agencies, ensuring campus compliance with governmental and judicial regulations, building and maintaining relationships with transfer institutions, and participating in certain community outreach events.
Ensuring that all department and campus activities align with the college's commitments of equity, care, innovation, and integrity.
