We have an exciting hybrid opportunity for a Manager of Gas Measurement who can work from our Maumelle, AR office.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Manager of Gas Measurement oversees and executes the daily operations of the meter shop, meter reading, and measurement technical support team. This role involves orchestrating collection, analysis, and reporting of gas measurement data, providing technical support and troubleshooting, and executing related continuous improvement projects. The Manager will ensure all activities comply with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Additionally, the Manager will proactively identify opportunities for process improvements, optimize data delivery, and foster cross-functional collaboration to promote a culture of continuous improvement and risk management.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Directly manage the Supervisor of the Meter Shop, the Supervisor of Meter Reading, and the Measurement Technical Support team.
- Work directly with the Program Manager of Measurement to oversee the logistics of transporting meters between operations and meter shop locations.
- Optimize processes and procedures in the meter shop and meter reading to ensure activities are performed in compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and resolve operational issues, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery.
- Execute and manage projects related to meter shop operations, meter reading, and measurement technical support.
- Coordinate the collection, analysis, and reporting of gas measurement data to ensure quality control and operational efficiencies.
- Implement strategies for accurate and timely reporting of gas measurement volumes for billing and Lost & Unaccounted for Gas (LUFG).
- Provide support for LUFG reporting and data gathering.
- Provide budget oversight manage the capital budgets for meters, regulator, and ERTs per OpCo requirements.
- Provide technical assistance and direction to field technicians in troubleshooting data collection equipment.
- Spearhead standard configuration and setup of electronic instruments.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration with other departments to ensure successful project execution.
- Develop and maintain supporting data programs used in the collection of field data, data retrieval, compilation, and reporting.
- Address and resolve questions from third parties and end-users regarding gas measurement data and volume calculations.
- Represent the company in volumetric settlements and disputes.
- Provide volume statements and gas measurement data to internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies while promoting a culture of continuous improvement and risk management.
- Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements and develop best practices.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in gas measurement technology.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and development within the team.
- Provide guidance, support, and performance evaluations for direct reports.
- Proactively establish standard operating procedures for meter testing in house while determining the need for third party meter shop to meet SUI meter demands.
- Serve as business lead of third-party meter shop contracts, relationship, and company relevant data that third party meter shops produce.
- Oversee the relevant data imports and exports in systems such as SAP.
- Conduct performance evaluations, develop employees, administers constructive discipline, provide employee guidance, counsels, and maintain proper documentation, as necessary.
- Monitor and identify training and development needs for employees, while planning, budgeting, and facilitating these needs.
- Plans, budgets, monitors, controls, and reports on expenditures in area of responsibility.
- Communicates corporate and departmental goals, promotes, and facilitates goal setting and monitors goal progress.
- Investigates and responds to various internal inquiries generated by claims, customer service, and regulatory complaints.
- Other duties as assigned by Director of Measurement.
