Summary/Objective
CNS is seeking a professional Instructional Designer to design and develop dynamic learning experiences that facilitate knowledge, skill, and competency acquisition. The role requires developing instructional materials and content that ensure an engaging and effective learning environment. The ideal candidate will apply proven instructional design theories and practices, and work closely with subject matter experts to meet the training needs of the target audience.
Essential Functions

- Create engaging learning activities and course content that enhances retention and work with subject matter experts to identify training needs.
- Define learning objectives and create relevant content to achieve them.
- Visualize instructional graphics and the finished product, ensuring clarity and user engagement.
- Conduct instructional research and analysis on learners and contexts to align with instructional goals.
- Apply instructional design theories, practices, and methods to ensure effective learning experiences.
- Develop exercises and activities that complement the learning process.
- Create supporting materials such as audio, video, simulations, role plays, and games.
- Design assessment tools to evaluate learners’ performance based on set criteria.
- Maintain project documentation and course folders to ensure organized and consistent record-keeping.
Qualifications
Requirements and Skills
- Proven experience in instructional design and with instructional technology.
- Strong knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models.
- Excellent skills in lesson and curriculum planning.
- Basic knowledge of HTML and Flash programming.
- Experience with course development software and at least one Learning Management System.
- Visual design expertise, particularly with tools such as Dreamweaver, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
- Strong ability to write effective copy, instructional text, and audio/video scripts.
- BS or MA degree in instructional design, educational technology, or a related field.
Work Environment
This job operates remotely, with flexibility regarding working hours and collaboration with the team.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a part-time temporary position with flexible working hours.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience in instructional design, content creation, or similar roles.
