Job Description

Summary/Objective:
The Project Manager will oversee and coordinate the construction and development of projects, ensuring successful completion within budget, on time, and according to specifications. This role involves managing day-to-day activities on construction sites, coordinating with the EPC firm, and ensuring all logistical aspects of the project are effectively handled. The Project Manager will also contribute to value engineering efforts and cost management throughout the project's lifecycle.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a team of managers and analysts, ensuring the completion of tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Delegate work based on team members' expertise, work experience, and time constraints.

  • Construction Coordination & Logistics:

    • Direct daily work activities during construction, ensuring the project is progressing according to the approved schedule and specifications.
    • Coordinate all site logistics, including deliveries, contractor onboarding, and allocation of resources.
    • Liaise with the EPC firm to ensure smooth operation of daily activities and resolve any issues that arise on-site.
  • Value Engineering & Cost Management:

    • Collaborate with the design team to implement value engineering practices and cost-saving solutions during the design phase.
    • Monitor and control project costs, ensuring the project stays within budget.
    • Conduct cost analysis and prepare accurate estimates for the project, adjusting the project budget as necessary.
  • Meetings & Reporting:

    • Attend and represent the project at meetings that the Project Manager or Engineers cannot attend.
    • Address concerns, questions, and complaints raised by clients or contractors throughout the project.
    • Provide regular progress updates and project status reports to senior management.
  • Contract Administration & Risk Management:

    • Administer blanket contracts, ensuring compliance with contract terms and conditions.
    • Conduct risk assessments, report identified risks to management, and recommend strategies to mitigate risk, including project termination if necessary.
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, industry standards, and best practices.
  • Client & Vendor Liaison:

    • Act as a liaison between the company, customers, and vendors, ensuring clear communication and addressing any issues that arise.
    • Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to provide the necessary training and information to promote and sell new projects, programs, and systems.
  • General Project Management:

    • Lead and manage an interdepartmental team to successfully complete the project within deadlines and to specification.
    • Provide guidance and leadership to ensure efficient task delegation and the fulfillment of project objectives.

  • Cost Management: Ability to estimate project costs, manage budgets, and implement cost-cutting solutions.
  • Problem-Solving/Analysis: Strong analytical skills to address issues that arise and develop effective solutions.
  • Communication Proficiency: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Team Leadership: Ability to delegate tasks effectively, supervise a team, and ensure tasks are completed on schedule.

Work Environment:

The job will primarily operate in a professional office environment, but it will require visits to construction sites where noise levels can vary, and working conditions may be loud or subject to extreme weather conditions.

Physical Demands:

  • Regularly required to sit at a desk and work on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, bend, or stoop during site visits.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

The typical work schedule is up to 8 hours per day and 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with an unpaid 30-minute lunch break. Additional hours may be required depending on project deadlines.

Travel:

This role may require occasional travel to construction sites and vendor locations. Travel could include overnight stays, depending on the project requirements.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Business, Engineering, or Construction Management.
  • At least 3 years of related project management experience, preferably in construction or related industries.
  • Experience in coordinating logistics and managing site activities during construction.
  • PMP, PgMP, CAPM, or similar project management certifications are highly desirable.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance (if applicable):

This position must be able to pass a Federal Background Check
