Part-time Marketing and Communications SpecialistThe Colorado Perinatal Mental Health Project (CO PMHP) is seeking a contract-based, part-time Marketing and Communications Specialist to lead and implement strategic marketing and communications initiatives for our organization.About CO PMHPWe are a nonprofit organization with a mission to transform Colorado into a state where every mother, birther, and family has access to quality, affordable mental health support by connecting families to resources, raising awareness, and offering opportunities for training and support for those who provide care. We are a relatively small team of individuals who care deeply about perinatal mental health, equity, and making a difference in the lives of Coloradans throughout pregnancy and the postpartum period.About the RoleThe Marketing and Communications Specialist plays a critical role in advancing CO PMHP’s mission by leading and implementing strategic communications initiatives for our team. This position focuses on enhancing our visibility, engagement, program recruitment, and fundraising efforts. The ideal candidate is a driven and self-motivated professional with a passion for storytelling, strategy, and project management in a nonprofit organization.Our workplace is fully remote and so you will need to utilize your own computer, internet access, etc. While we are remote, there are very occasional required events and meetings in the Denver Metro area.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic CommunicationsDevelop and implement robust communications plans to support awareness and engagement across multiple audiences, program recruitment, and fundraising initiatives.Oversee the annual communications calendar, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.Develop and implement a public relations strategy that increases visibility and encourages action among CO PMHP’s key audience groups.Uphold CO PMHP’s brand integrity by ensuring consistency across all materials.Meet with staff members and audience members to deepen organizational understanding of CO PMHP’s audiences as they evolve. Leverage insights and qualitative data to inform marketing strategy.Content Creation & StorytellingCraft compelling narratives for newsletters, social media, website messaging, email campaigns, and donor outreach.Manage the production of key materials such as flyers, presentation decks, swag, and other related collateral.Coordinate and create short-form video content for social media platforms.Partner with our team to spotlight impactful content.Social Media & Digital PresenceCollaborate with the team to maintain and update the CO PMHP website.Develop strategy and content for a blog that drives traffic to CO PMHP’s website.Drive social media strategy and execution, including content creation and audience engagement on Facebook (including communities) and Instagram. Create new profiles and drive following and engagement on LinkedIn, TikTok, and Youtube.Set strategy, develop content for, and implement digital advertising efforts on Meta Ads Manager and Google Ads.Set strategy for, develop content for, and monitor email marketing efforts including regular newsletters and segmented email automations.Monitor and analyze digital metrics, leveraging insights to optimize performance.Stay ahead of trends to keep our digital presence fresh and relevant to our audiences.Event CommunicationsLead the multi-channel communications efforts for organizational and program events, from promotional materials to on-the-ground storytelling.Collaborate with the team to ensure seamless integration of visuals, messaging, and timelines.Team Collaboration & LeadershipServe as a collaborative member of our team- while we work remotely, we work closely together to achieve our goals!Support colleagues in achieving communications and marketing goals specific to their areas of focus.Communicate with external vendors as needed and coordinate with graphic designers, photographers, videographers, and other professionals to produce high-quality materials.QualificationsMust-HaveExceptional verbal and written communication skills.Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with strong follow-through.Highly professional, reliable, and organized, even under pressure.Have the ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and reach out for support when needed.A collaborative and joyful approach to teamwork, with a good sense of humor.Absolute discretion and trustworthiness with sensitive information.A strong commitment to equity.Experience & EducationBachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field, or equivalent experience.3 years of professional experience in marketing and communications, preferably in a nonprofit setting.Proficiency in Wix’s website editor or similar platform.Proficiency in Mailchimp’s email marketing features including segmenting and email automations or a similar platform.Extensive social media management experience on Facebook (including communities), Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and Youtube.Proficiency in digital advertising platforms including Meta Ads Manager and Google Ads.Proficiency in Canva and knowledge in graphic design principles and best practices.Proficiency in short-form video creation for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and Youtube.Experience in public relations strategy development and execution.PreferredExperience in fundraising campaigns and donor engagement.Spanish language proficiency (written).Lived experience with and / or a passion for perinatal mental health.
