POSITION SUMMARY: 


This position reports to the central director of Camp Operations. The Central Summer Camps Site Director will support the organization by being the lead for their designated location, managing recreational camp sites, ensuring proper and punctual setup and takedown of fields, and providing exceptional customer service for families, players, and coaches. The Site Director will also oversee the safety of the camp environment, assist camp coaches with curriculum execution and organization, and deliver a high-quality camp experience for players. 


The Site Director must be a minimum of 18 years old and able to lift up to 50 lbs of equipment. This is a physically active position that includes and is not limited to goals to being carried out to the fields, extended periods of standing, walking to various fields, and being outside in moderate weather conditions. Successful candidates will have a background in coaching. 


JOB FUNCTIONS:


Operations

  • Act as the main point person while all day and half-day camps are taking place; typically between the hours of 8 am-5 pm Monday - Friday, June through August.. You are expected to be at the fields for the entirety of the time that camps are taking place, in addition to the adequate time needed for field set up and take down.
  • The Site Director will manage the camp coaching staff and ensure that the environment is safe and that curriculum is being followed. 
  • The Site Director is responsible for having all fields and Rapids signage set up a minimum of 20 minutes prior to the camp starting. Must be able to safely assemble, store, and maintain collapsible goals for all fields with 3v3, 5v5, and 7v7 size dimensions.
  • The Site Director will be responsible for overseeing unique accommodations at each site to ensure members and spectators are safe and comfortable.
  • After the camp has ended, the Site Director is responsible for ensuring that camp equipment and goals have been properly taken down and stored in their appropriate area.
  • The Site Director will address in-the-moment disputes with tact, consideration for all parties involved, and sensitivity to CRYSC protocols.
  • The Site Director will assist any in-the-moment medical and safety emergencies that may occur and report them to the Central Director of Camp Operations. 


Player Experience

  • CRYSC Site Directors will provide players, coaches, and families with a camp experience marked by professional field organization, customer-friendly on-site support, and enjoyment.
  • Greet and welcome players and their families to the fields.
  • Help promote and implement the Let-Us-Play philosophy during camps. This includes having conversations with families who are not abiding by the Let-Us-Play guidelines. 
  • Handing out Rapids and/or partner items (swag) at the end of each camp day (camper of the day) as applicable. 


Communication/Player Recruitment

  • Adhere to the club’s 24-hour communication policy in all forms of communication; email and voicemail.
  • Coordinating, communicating, and collaborating with CRYSC Recreational Program Directors as needed throughout the season.
  • The Site Director will observe and take notes of players that may qualify to be invited to Elite and Select programming. These notes will be shared with the corresponding Director of Coaching for these age groups. 


Customer Service

  • Implement, maintain and exemplify a standard of superior customer service across all interactions with members, coaches, and staff. 
  • Provide informative, friendly, and professional customer service for any camp-related questions. 
  • Orienting spectators and teams to their proper field and viewing areas.

When not in camp sessions, the Site Director is responsible for overseeing appropriate gear preparation for the next camp cycle, informing the Director of Camp Operations of new items to order, and that communication is prepared for upcoming camps. 


Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in coaching, managing youth sports programs, or working in a camp or educational leadership role.
  • Strong background in soccer instruction, including rules, strategy, and skills development for youth of varying ages and ability levels
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and supervise staff, including coaches, counselors, and volunteers
  • Proven experience in organizing and managing daily camp operations, including scheduling, conflict resolution, and ensuring camper safety and well-being
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with campers, parents, and staff
  • CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain before camp start date)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure
  • A passion for working with children and promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, and fun
