Duties & Functions:
- The Janitor/Janitress will be responsible for proving daily janitorial services to assigned Tribal Administrative Departments.
- Will perform a variety of cleaning tasks that require light physical effort and involves the use of hand or lightweight powered cleaning equipment.
- Will report to the department, in which services are to be provided, any condition requiring maintenance including but not limited to defects in property and equipment, water leaks, clogged drains, defects in property and equipment.
- Will keep stock of cleaning materials and equipment needed to perform the work tasks.
- Will inform the supervisor when more materials are needed.
- Will keep council chambers clean at all times and will check at the end of each day.
- Will clean and disinfect commodes, urinals, stalls, clean mirrors, sinks and water fountains.
- Will replace deodorizers, toilet tissue, sanitary napkins, paper towels and soap.
- Will vacuum carpets, sweep and mop all tile and linoleum floors, dust window sills and blinds, wash insides and outside of windows.
- Will empty all water paper baskets, clean lounge, offices, storerooms, corridors and other places.
- Follow established Tribal policies and those outlined in the Colorado River Indian Tribes Employee Handbook.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Must be self-motivated.
- Must have the ability to remain on a task until the task is completed.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
- Must possess a current valid driver's license.
Physical Requirement:
- Be able to stand at least eight (8) hours.
- Must be able to lift, push or pull a minimum of twenty-five (25) pounds.
- Physically able to perform duties assigned.
- Occasionally work extended shifts as assigned.
